What is ISO?

ISO is an abbreviation. It stands for the International Organization for Standardization. This is an international organization established for issuing international standards. The organization has its base in Geneva, Switzerland.

What is ISO certification?

This is the obtaining of an ISO certificate by an organization. The certificate is a document that indicates that the organization has implemented a management system that complies with the requirements of the particular international standard against which the organization has received certification.

Why do companies need ISO certification?

There are many different reasons why companies seek ISO certification. The most common motivating factors include:

Can small companies obtain ISO certification?

Yes. ISO certification is suitable for any sized company. The design of the international standards allows for implementation in a wide variety of settings. Small companies can benefit a great deal from becoming ISO certified.

Who can issue an ISO certificate

Only accredited certification bodies such as ours can issue ISO certificates. These certificates are valid for a limited period (mostly 3 years) after which they must be renewed.

What if I approach an organization that isn’t accredited?

Your ISO certification will not have the required recognition. This is especially important if you are seeking certification in order to compete for tenders or to work with organizations that require their contractors to be certified.

My company is already certified and I used a different certification body. Can I switch over to Russell Certification?
